With its rich, colorful history, Wallace and the Silver Valley offer many museums for the inquisitive tourist. Visit the area mine and railway museums, the Oasis Bordello Museum in downtown Wallace, the Staff House Museum in Kellogg or the oldest standing building in Idaho – the old DeSmet Mission in Cataldo.

Oasis Bordello Museum: Tour an actual brothel, which quickly closed in 1988 with the "girls" leaving the brothel exactly as it was when it was open for business. This exhibit is a tasteful and truthful account of prostitution in the Silver Valley.

Northern Pacific Depot Railroad Museum: Saved from certain destruction during the I-90 overpass construction, this 90-ton building was moved across the river to its present location and restored. Inside you will find a classic railroad depot for the Northern Pacific Railroad just as it was 100 years ago. Railroad pictures and displays may be enjoyed throughout the museum depicting the large role railroads had in shaping Historic Wallace's past.. Do not be late for the next train's departure.

Wallace District Mining Museum: Enjoy an eclectic array of mining exhibits, an informative historical video along with area photos documenting the people and accounts that shaped the town, state and nation.
